Behavioral Health

Our new Behavioral Health Unit is the first phase of a multi-faceted program to meet urgent community needs.

Behavioral Health Service

Coast Plaza Hospital has opened the first phase of an innovative inpatient Behavioral Health Unit to serve several Los Angeles-area communities. Patients will have access to a full continuum of care including general acute care, acute psychiatric inpatient care, and an IOP program all at the same location. The unit includes 37 adult inpatient beds with a room for dining as well as therapeutic diversional activities.

Expanded access to behavioral health services is a critical need of the project’s targeted population of Medi-Cal eligible patients.

Our over-arching goals are to provide acute inpatient behavioral health care and transition patients to an Intensive Outpatient Psychiatric Program (IOP) designed to accommodate up to 30 patients at a time.

The new inpatient unit offers a range of services to meet this need, with daily therapies including individual therapy and group milieu settings from disciplines, psychiatric and medication treatment, social services and discharge planning coordination.
