Congratulations to Jiho “Geo” Jung, recipient of this month’s Exemplary Employee Award for Coast Plaza Hospital. The new award recognizes outstanding employees who demonstrate their commitment to patients, family and co-workers through acts of caring, compassion and excellent customer service.
The award carries with it a certificate of recognition as well as a $100 gift card, and honorees will have use of a premium parking space at our hospital for one month. In addition, honorees will be featured in our Pulse newsletter as an Exemplary Employee, and their photos will be displayed on a plaque in a public area of our hospital.
Jung works as an Intake Nurse Coordinator in our Behavioral Health Unit. He joined our Coast Plaza team in October 2023. His nomination shared this:
Jiho’s job title is Intake RN, but he wears many hats happily. Jiho works tirelessly on screening behavioral health patients and making sure our census is at our near capacity. He works overtime, weekends, holidays and remotely, if necessary. Jiho also steps up to cover breaks and meetings for the floor staff, Charge Nurse, Behavioral Health Techs and nurses. You can often find Jiho on the floor talking to patients, deescalating as needed, and this is done without hesitation and without prompting. Jiho consistently demonstrates excellence with an exceptional attitude. He acts as a role model to staff and sets a high standard for all employees. Our BHU team is extremely lucky to have Jiho onboard.
